On February 12, 2026, Hakuhodo Technologies, the core technology arm of Hakuhodo DY Group, partnered with D-ID to integrate D-ID’s streaming avatar technology. This collaboration addresses Japan's rising demand for virtual humans by creating personalized, culturally resonant virtual experiences while managing complex technical challenges, including Japanese-language latency. Earlier in February, on February 3, D-ID introduced its V4 Expressive Avatars, an innovation trained on real human performances that aligns vocal tone, facial expressions, and body language with emotional intent. These avatars support high-quality pre-recorded video and will soon support low-latency real-time conversational AI. This followed news from February 2, when My Last Will announced its use of D-ID’s technology to bring humanity and trust to digital legacy planning, enabling individuals to record end-of-life intentions in a secure format.
