D-ID, a privately owned Israeli software company founded in 2017, develops generative AI technology. Employing approximately 120 people, the company's primary product animates still images of faces, enabling more efficient and cost-effective video production. As of 2023, the company's annual revenue was less than $10 million.
On September 16, 2025, D-ID announced the acquisition of simpleshow, an AI video company, for an undisclosed amount. This acquisition combines D-ID's real-time interactive digital humans with simpleshow's explainer-video studio. The combined entity, operating under the D-ID brand, will serve over 1500 large enterprise customers, including many Fortune 500 companies. The goal is to transition training and marketing from one-way videos to interactive, two-way experiences. Teams from Tel Aviv and Berlin will work together. D-ID's technology creates digital humans capable of real-time conversations, aiming to improve enterprise communication by adding a visual, branded layer to AI assistants.
