Dublin City University is a State Owned university headquartered in Ireland. Founded in 1980, it employs approximately 4080 individuals. The institution functions as a public research university situated on the northside of Dublin, Ireland, having been created as the National Institute for Higher Education in 1975, officially elevated to university status in 1989, and subsequently expanded through the incorporation of several local teacher training colleges.
