On the same day, German baritone Thomas Johannes Mayer, known for his performances in Wagner roles, unexpectedly passed away at age 56. Earlier, between November 20 and 22, 2025, Het Nationale Ballet presented two full-evening programs four times at the New York City Center, marking its first large-scale performance in New York in over four decades. This followed a Ballet Forum held on November 20, 2025, which saw 35 participants from 14 countries selected from 75 global applications for future artistic directors.
