On March 16, 2026, Xinhua News Agency President Fu Hua met with André Basbaum, president of Brazil's public broadcasting company Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC), in Beijing. Previously, on December 19, 2025, EBC subsidiary Canal Gov broadcast the "Bom Dia Ministra" program, where Minister Margareth Menezes highlighted the financial impact of Brazil's Rouanet Law. Menezes stated that for every R$ 1 invested, R$ 7 returns to society, citing a Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) study that reported the law moved R$ 25.7 billion in 2024, generating 228,000 jobs and impacting nearly 90 million people. This followed the BRICS Media and Think Tank Forum, which EBC co-hosted with Xinhua News Agency in Rio de Janeiro on July 16, 2025.
