Elisa buys fibre network Napapiirin Kuituverkot in Finnish Lapland

Elisa has announced its acquisition of Napapiirin Kuituverkot, a fibre network in Finnish Lapland, from owners Neve and Koillis-Lapin Sahko. Napapiirin Kuituverkot has fibre customers in Rovaniemi, Kemijarvi, Pelkosenniemi, Savukoski, Salla, Kolari, Pello, Enontekio and Tervola. Elisa take over responsibility for the maintenance and development of the fibre-optic networks and customer relationships and services but customers will not notice any change.

Elisa said it has reached a distribution agreement with Schibsted broadcaster MTV to resume carriage of its channels on the Elisa Viihte entertainment service and on Elisa's cable television network.
