On February 12, 2026, Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Director-General of the Emirates Racing Authority and chairman of the Gulf Horseracing Council, announced a new, joined-up strategy for Middle Eastern racing jurisdictions at the Asian Racing Conference in Riyadh, encompassing six cross-border deals. Previously, on February 11, 2026, Al Shehhi was re-elected Vice-Chairman of the Asian Racing Federation for a second consecutive term during the federation's meeting, held concurrently with the conference. Earlier, on December 1, 2025, the ERA's inaugural online sale, hosted by Tattersalls Online, achieved an 87% clearance rate, with 13 of 15 lots sold. The lightly raced three-year-old Daayyem topped the sale, exchanging hands for AED58,000 (US$15,793) to Khalifa Alneyadi.
