Emirates Racing Authority, also known as ERA, is privately owned and headquartered in the UAE. Founded in 1996, the entity functions as a tier 1 media tech buyer. It serves as the governing body for horse racing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
On April 2, 2026, the Tattersalls Online platform concluded the Emirates Racing Authority (ERA) Sale, reporting record participation with 221 registered bidders globally, an increase of 154% over average ERA live sale registrations from the past five years. This event followed the ERA's announcement on March 24 regarding registration for its Horses in Training Online Sale 2026 on the Tattersalls Online website. Earlier, on February 12, Mohammad Al Shehhi, Director General of the Emirates Racing Authority and chair of the Gulf Horseracing Council, coordinated six cross-border deals for Middle Eastern racing jurisdictions. This announcement came from the Asian Racing Conference in Riyadh. Previously, on February 11, Al Shehhi was re-elected Vice-Chairman of the Asian Racing Federation for a second consecutive term during the federation's meeting in Riyadh, held alongside the Asian Racing Conference.
