On April 22, 2026, Janette Ylisoini of Finland secured the women’s 77 kg title and Marin Robu of Moldova won the men’s 88 kg category during Day 5 of the 2026 EWF European Championships in Batumi. Previously, on April 14, 2026, the European Weightlifting Federation announced that its 2026 Youth Training Camp for all EWF National Federations will take place in Macolin, Switzerland, from July 12 to 19. Earlier, from February 12 to 15, 2026, the Armenian Weightlifting Federation invited three EWF Technical Committee members to conduct an EWF Technical Official Seminar in Yerevan, held in conjunction with the 2026 Armenian National Weightlifting Championship. On February 5, 2026, the EWF signed an agreement with the EOC EU Office of Sports, "The House of European Sport," which serves as the Brussels-based representation of the European Olympic Committees to promote the interests of the Olympic Movement at the European Union level. This follows the EWF Executive Board's decision on December 30, 2025, to cancel the 2026 European Junior & U23 Weightlifting Championships, originally scheduled for Poland, and to confirm a new Youth Calendar.
