On March 16, 2026, the Armenian Weightlifting Federation hosted an EWF Technical Official Seminar in Yerevan from February 12 to 15, conducted by three EWF Technical Committee members, coinciding with the 2026 Armenian National Weightlifting Championship. Previously, on February 5, the European Weightlifting Federation signed an agreement with the EOC EU Office of Sports, known as "The House of European Sport," which serves as the Brussels-based representation of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) to European institutions. Earlier, on December 30, 2025, the EWF Executive Board canceled the 2026 European Junior & U23 Weightlifting Championships, originally scheduled for Poland, and confirmed a new youth calendar during its final official meeting of 2025. This decision followed an introductory text prepared on December 11, 2025, anticipating the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Polish Weightlifting Federation in Warsaw on December 13, 2025. In May 2025, Mohammed Jalood was re-elected as IWF President for his second term in a unanimous vote during the IWF elections, which also saw Europe gain four Executive Board seats.
