The Federazione Italiana Rugby (FIR) is the governing body for rugby union in Italy. Founded in 1928, it is responsible for organizing and promoting the sport at all levels, from grassroots to professional. The FIR is a privately owned organization with a staff of 330 and an annual revenue of less than $50 million as of 2023. Headquartered in Italy, the FIR oversees domestic competitions such as the Top10 and Coppa Italia, as well as the national team, known as the Azzurri. The FIR also represents Italy in international rugby tournaments, including the Six Nations Championship and the Rugby World Cup.
