Previously, on June 16, Fiji's standing among the world’s rugby elite was underscored by the unveiling of the inaugural Nations Championship Trophy, as the Flying Fijians prepare for the new international competition beginning next month. Earlier in the month, on June 8, Fijian rugby coaches returned from the 2026 IBP Fiji Hurricanes Immersion Workshop, gaining new knowledge and perspectives from New Zealand’s high-performance rugby environment. And on June 4, a Cardiff pub, The Lansdowne in Canton, was transformed into ‘The Fiji Arms’ to celebrate one month until the opening fixture of the inaugural Nations Championship, specifically Fiji’s match against Wales at Cardiff City Stadium on July 4.
