Fuji Television Network is a privately owned company headquartered in Japan, and a subsidiary of Fuji Media Holdings. Founded in 1957 with approximately 230 employees, the company reported $1.4B in revenue as of 2024, operating as a tier 1 media tech buyer. The company's main product is broadcast television and radio. Functioning as a Japanese television station that serves the Kantō region, it is the flagship station of the Fuji News Network (FNN) and the Fuji Network System (FNS). The station is owned-and-operated by Fuji Television Network itself, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fuji Media Holdings, which is a certified broadcasting holding company under the Japanese Broadcasting Act, and affiliated with the Fujisankei Communications Group. It is headquartered in the Fuji Broadcasting Center in Odaiba, Minato, Tokyo, and is recognized as one of the five private broadcasters based in Tokyo.
On February 3, an investment group affiliated with the former Murakami Fund indicated its intention to withdraw its large-scale share purchase policy for Fuji Television's parent company, Fuji HD, potentially signaling an end to a conflict regarding the restructuring of Fuji HD's real estate business. Previously, on February 2, the same group had indicated its intent to withdraw the policy, at which time Fuji HD stated it was considering introducing external capital into its real estate business. Earlier, on January 30, Fuji Television President Kenji Shimizu held a press conference, marking one year since his appointment, where he reported that the company's commercial transactions recovered to 90% of levels prior to the Masahiro Nakai issue, with an aim to return to 100% through April restructuring. During the event, Shimizu emphasized the implementation of governance and compliance reforms, explained progress in response to a human rights issue, and noted that Fuji TV advertising had recovered to 93% in January. He did not, however, address specific demands from the former Murakami Fund group.
