The German Handball Federation (DHB), a privately owned organization founded in 1949, is the governing body for handball in Germany. Employing approximately 70 people and headquartered in Dortmund, Germany, the DHB organizes domestic handball competitions and represents German teams in international events. The DHB joined the International Handball Federation in 1950 and the European Handball Federation in 1991. Its primary activity is the organization and administration of spectator sports, with revenues in 2022 reported as less than $250 million.
