Gigaclear is a privately owned company headquartered in the UK. Founded in 2010, the company employs approximately 580 individuals. Functioning as a telecommunications company, Gigaclear specializes in providing telecom services.
On July 13, 2026, Gigaclear partnered with Northumbrian Water, aiming to redefine customer experience by aligning a rural fibre provider with a water utility. Previously, on June 9, Gigaclear relaunched its fibre broadband products, incorporating smart Wi-Fi 7 technology from eero. This relaunch combines ultrafast full-fibre broadband with in-home installation and optimization to ensure whole-home Wi-Fi connectivity. This follows news from June 3 that taxpayers lost nearly £100 million after lenders to Gigaclear, including the taxpayer-backed National Wealth Fund (NWF), were compelled to take a major writedown on their investment. The NWF was among the lenders that seized control of the debt-laden company during a significant restructuring in April.
