Global Cloud Xchange (GCX), a privately owned company founded in 1988 and headquartered in the UK, provides network services to businesses, media companies, and telecommunications carriers. Employing approximately 900 people, GCX was acquired by 3i Infrastructure in September 2022.
GCX Managed Services announced the appointment of Luca Simonelli as Senior Vice President, Channel & Global Alliances. This appointment was made to expand the company's channel strategy following strong year-on-year growth. Simonelli will deepen relationships with technology vendors, telecom operators, and managed services providers. He brings over two decades of experience scaling businesses and will lead the expansion of GCX's global partner ecosystem. Simonelli previously served as Vice President for EMEA at Cato Networks and also worked at Cisco, joining through its acquisition of OpenDNS. GCX serves brands in the hospitality, retail, FMCG, and manufacturing sectors.
