Gogo is a publicly owned, US-headquartered company, founded in 2006, with an estimated 1,000 employees. The company specializes in enterprise connectivity services, functioning as a provider of broadband connectivity products and services for aviation.
Inflight connectivity has experienced a dramatic evolution over the past decade, transforming from a convenience into critical operational infrastructure impacting safety, efficiency, and passenger experience, a shift highlighted on February 19, 2026. Gogo Business Aviation is experiencing unprecedented demand for Gogo Galileo HDX, its new global broadband Low-Earth-Orbit satellite service, with demand exceeding that of its widely adopted Gogo AVANCE L5 system launched in 2017. Earlier on February 17, Gogo announced a definitive agreement to acquire Satcom Direct, a move intended to establish the company as the sole in-flight connectivity provider capable of meeting performance and cost requirements across all segments of the global business aviation and military/government mobility markets. Simultaneously, Gogo began flight testing its next-generation 5G air-to-ground connectivity network for North American customers, utilizing a Pilatus PC-24 trials platform. This testing followed Jet Edge International becoming Gogo's 5G launch customer, committing to upgrade 50 of its large-cabin aircraft, which primarily feature AVANCE L5, to Gogo 5G over a 24-month period.
