On September 11, 2026, Google DeepMind and Google Research introduced Weather NeXT 3, an advanced artificial intelligence-powered global weather forecasting model designed to provide faster, more detailed, and accurate predictions worldwide. The system aims to deliver localized, real-time climate intelligence at unprecedented resolution by directly ingesting live geostationary satellite mosaics and real-world ground station data, thereby eliminating traditional reliance on slow, compute-heavy numerical approximations. Earlier the same day, Sir Demis Hassabis, chairman and co-founder of Google DeepMind, alongside his roles as chief scientist of Alphabet and chief executive officer and co-founder of Isomorphic Labs, was confirmed as a keynote speaker for the International AI Summit 2026. The summit is scheduled for October 14 in Dublin, as part of Ireland's Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
