Groupe SNCF is a state-owned railway operator headquartered in France. Established in 1938 following an agreement between the government, private railway companies, and labor unions, the company operates nearly all rail transport in France and Monaco. With an estimated 60,400 employees, its functions include the operation of railway services for passengers and freight through its subsidiaries SNCF Voyageurs and Rail Logistics Europe, as well as railway infrastructure management via SNCF Réseau. The company's operations include the TGV on France's high-speed rail network. Its extensive railway network spans approximately 35,000 km of route, of which 2,600 km are high-speed lines and 14,500 km are electrified, with more than 14,000 trains operated daily.
