Habyt, a privately owned company headquartered in Germany, was founded in 2017 and employs approximately 170 individuals. The company specializes in the development and management of community-driven and technologically enabled co-living spaces.
Habyt recently opened Habyt Vienna on August 20, 2026, marking its first location in the Austrian capital and described as one of the larger aparthotel projects launched this year. Previously, on May 21, Habyt launched Leaze, a new asset-light brand for co-living and shared living designed to serve residents, landlords, and local operators. This followed the company's announcement on May 11 that it sold its co-living portfolios in France, Portugal, and Spain to three local operators, impacting assets in Paris, Lisbon, and Madrid. Earlier, on April 28, Habyt sold its Asia Pacific (APAC) business, spanning operations in Singapore and Hong Kong previously under the Hmlet brand, to FL Japan Holdings, a subsidiary of Japanese developer Mitsubishi Estate Co. Nikkei Asia reported the deal was valued at "several billion yen."
