Havila Voyages, also known as Havila Kystruten, is a privately owned Norwegian shipping and passenger transportation company headquartered in Fosnavåg, Norway, and publicly traded on Euronext Growth Oslo (HKY). Founded in 2017 by its parent entity, the family-owned investment firm Havila Holding AS, the company operates with approximately 580 employees. The company specializes in operating four vessels on the Bergen–Kirkenes–Bergen coastal cruise and cargo route, a right awarded by the Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communications. Under the executive leadership of CEO Bent Martini, Havila Voyages manages a fleet of four hybrid sister ships—the MS Havila Capella, MS Havila Castor, MS Havila Polaris, and MS Havila Pollux—all designed by Hav Design and completed at the Tersan Shipyard in Turkey. Engineered to service vulnerable ecosystems like the UNESCO World Heritage Geirangerfjord, each 124-meter vessel integrates a low-emission propulsion architecture combining liquefied natural gas (LNG) engines with an 86-ton, 6.1-megawatt-hour Corvus battery pack. This configuration allows for up to four hours of continuous, zero-emission electric operation while utilizing waste heat recovery systems for onboard climate and hot water utilities. Beyond international cruise passengers, the company provides essential transport for local day travelers and maintains a cargo capacity for up to 190 freight pallets and selected non-electric automobiles, routing its environmentally optimized regional transport portfolio across 34 ports along the Norwegian coastline.
