Hawe Telekom, a privately owned company headquartered in Poland, was founded in 1990. With approximately 40 employees, it reported $4.6M in revenue as of 2023. The company specializes in enterprise connectivity services, functioning as a carrier's carrier by providing telecommunications services to other operators. Its services target operators of fixed and mobile telephone networks, cable television providers, Internet providers, and both domestic and foreign entities within the telecommunications industry, including all fibre-optic network operators.
In January, the Polish Industrial Development Agency (ARP) and Hawe Telekom agreed to a deal where ARP would convert Hawe Telekom's debt into equity. The Warsaw Economic Court subsequently approved a restructuring plan based on this agreement. ARP then applied to the national competition regulator UOKiK for permission to take over Hawe Telekom. A meeting of creditors approved ARP's acquisition of a 99 percent stake in Hawe Telekom in exchange for assuming its debts, a decision pending court approval. ARP plans to repay Hawe Telekom's debts to other creditors within three years. Separately, Hawe Telekom reported PLN 43 million in revenue for 2023, an 83 percent year-on-year increase. This included PLN 22.5 million from domestic sales of products and services and PLN 20.5 million from exports. Furthermore, Hawe Telekom initiated a project to deploy a second backbone line to Lithuania, planned for completion in the fourth quarter of 2024.
