HDFC ERGO General Insurance, a privately owned company founded in 2002 and headquartered in India, provides general insurance products. It is a joint venture, with a 51% stake held by Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (HDFC) and a 49% stake by ERGO International AG, a subsidiary of Munich Re Group (Germany).
