HTC recently supported local communities by providing weekend meals for children and supplies for transitional shelters, according to an August 28 report on its "Helping The Community" efforts. On the same day, the cooperative announced its continued expansion of fiber in rural communities, emphasizing its mission as the nation's largest member-owned internet cooperative to connect people to opportunity and uplift communities. Previously, on August 27, HTC continued its partnership with the American Red Cross to provide fire prevention resources and education to local families, stressing the importance of working smoke alarms. Earlier in August, the company discussed the evolution of smart home technology for everyday life, focusing on smart security offerings. This follows an August 14 explanation of its cooperative membership model, highlighting that it is owned by its members and aims to serve them and give back to the communities where they live and work, distinct from investor-owned entities.
