The Indiana Pacers are a privately owned American professional basketball team based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Founded in 1967 as a member of the American Basketball Association (ABA), the Pacers joined the National Basketball Association (NBA) in 1976 following the ABA–NBA merger. They are currently a member of the Eastern Conference's Central Division and play their home games at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
