ION Media Networks, a privately owned company founded in 2007, operates broadcast television and radio. Formerly known as Paxson Communications Corporation, it was a significant owner and operator of television stations in the United States, also managing channels such as Qubo and Ion Shop. Following bankruptcy and subsequent restructuring in 2009, it operated independently until its acquisition by E. W. Scripps Company in 2021. The acquisition resulted in a merger with Scripps' Katz Broadcasting, forming a new Scripps Networks division encompassing ION Television, Ion Mystery, Ion Plus, and the former Ion Media Television stations. The company currently employs approximately 310 people and is headquartered in the United States.
