This followed the February 10 announcement by Jazz at Lincoln Center regarding its 2026 Gala, "Rhythms That Move the World," scheduled for April 15, 2026, to celebrate the defining rhythms of the African diaspora. Earlier, on February 6, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis was scheduled for performances titled “Duke in Africa” at Hodgson Concert Hall on February 14 and 15.
