This followed remarks from JPMorgan Private Bank researchers on March 15, who indicated a risk that sustained higher oil prices could trigger a "domino effect" in equities, potentially deepening the S&P 500's sell-off by 15% and spreading losses globally. Earlier, on March 14, JPMorgan projected that oil prices would collapse back to $60 per barrel by 2026, despite a recent geopolitical spike that saw Brent crude jump over 6% to trade above $77 a barrel.
