Kalavara Film

Kalavara Film, a privately owned company headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey, was founded in 2017 by film producer Okan Üzey. The company employs approximately 10 individuals. Kalavara Film functions as an independent film distribution and media production company that specializes in the creative incubation, financing, and delivery of alternative, auteur-driven independent cinema, mockumentaries, and long-form factual series. It established its industry presence with its debut feature project, My Suburban Stories, which achieved engagement across regional audiences. The company acts as both a main producer and co-producer on domestic and international projects, regularly securing production funding and institutional backing from the Directorate General of Cinema of the Republic of Türkiye and the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT). Its narrative and documentary library features festival selections and co-productions, including Plaza, Istanbul Calling, Grass, Veha, and This Is It, The Apocalypse.
