Korea Cable Television Association, also known as KCTA, a State Owned entity headquartered in South Korea, was founded in 1994. The association serves as an industry body representing System Operators (SOs) and Program Providers (PPs) in the South Korean cable TV industry, focusing on industry development, policy influence, and community engagement. Its work encompasses broadcasting and telecommunication policy research, lobbying efforts, compilation of industry statistics, and promotion of the sector through public relations and events such as the Korea Cable TV Awards. A core component of KCTA's current mission, dubbed "Cable Vision 4.0," involves expanding services related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), including the development of smart cities with AI set-top boxes and smart home services. The association also actively works to strengthen the role of local cable operators by expanding their function to include "local community care" and fosters shared growth strategies between SOs and PPs. Furthermore, the KCTA endeavors to establish the foundation for cultural exchanges and infrastructure cooperation in broadcasting between North and South Korea.
