L1 is a State Owned company headquartered in Netherlands. Founded in 1999, it employs approximately 400 individuals. The company specializes in Broadcast Media Production and Distribution, operating as a regional public broadcaster for the province of Limburg in the Netherlands. Also known by its original name Omroep Limburg (lit. 'Limburg Broadcasting'), the entity was established in 1988 to replace the Regionale Omroep Zuid (ROZ) and rebranded to L1 in 1999 following a merger with the commercial broadcaster TV8 Limburg.
