Earlier, on August 5, Liberty Networks announced a partnership with Venezuela's state-owned telecommunications provider CANTV to build the Fenix submarine fiber-optic cable system. This project will directly connect Curaçao and Venezuela, aiming to strengthen digital connectivity between the two countries and position Curaçao as a telecommunications hub. The Fenix subsea cable project was initially announced on August 4, 2026.
