Lux Machina, a privately owned company headquartered in the United States, is a subsidiary of NEP Group. Founded in 2013 and operating with approximately 60 employees, it specializes in media managed services, with a particular focus on virtual production display technology and in-camera VFX.
Lux Machina collaborated with five visual effects studios—RISE Ghost VFX, Narwhal Studios, Wild Capture, and Universal Production Partners (UPP)—along with Digital Domain and The Third Floor, to support Coppola's post-production needs. A "Behind-the-Tech" presentation featuring Alex Coppedge and Sky Ferren was also given by Lux Machina. Additionally, Lux Machina presented "Material Ecology for Megalopolis." On an unspecified date, NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, in collaboration with Lux Machina and AbelCine, announced the launch of The Martin Scorsese Virtual Production Center at Industry City in Brooklyn, New York. This facility will serve as a training platform for NYU post-graduate students and a commercial virtual production studio.
