The Madrid Assembly (Spanish: Asamblea de Madrid) is the legislative body responsible for governing the autonomous community of Madrid in Spain. It is a unicameral parliament composed of 136 members elected by proportional representation using the D'Hondt method. The Assembly is elected for a four-year term and its members are known as deputies (diputados). The Assembly meets at the Assembly of Madrid building in Madrid. The current President of the Assembly is María Eugenia Carballedo del Río. The Assembly was established in 1983 following the approval of the Statute of Autonomy of Madrid.
