Meruelo Media, a privately owned company headquartered in US, was founded in 2011 and employs approximately 90 individuals. Meruelo Media's formation began in 2011 when a Meruelo Group affiliate acquired KWHY-TV in Los Angeles, an independent Spanish-language television station in the U.S. In 2012, its Media Group was formed and the cable channel Super 22 was added to its assets. Radio was integrated into its media portfolio in 2014 with the acquisition of FM radio station KDAY 93.5 in Los Angeles and KDEY in San Bernardino-Riverside, California. By 2016, this facility served as a production facility for 20th Television’s various productions for the FOX Station Group. In 2017, television operations expanded with the acquisition of the full power Los Angeles TV station KBEH channel 63, and radio holdings increased with the acquisition of the English language FM radio station KPWR “Power 106” in Los Angeles. These communication properties are utilized for marketing, advertising, and messaging in Southern California, with a focus on serving the culturally diverse Southern California community.
