Bangladesh Television (BTV) is a state-owned broadcaster founded in 1964 and headquartered in Bangladesh. Employing approximately 80 people, it provides television and radio services. In 2023, its revenue was less than $50 million.
Bangladesh Television aired a pre-recorded speech by Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed on an anticipated $3.6 billion in budget support from development partners by the end of June. On Monday, June 2nd, 2025, Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar broadcast Dr. Ahmed's presentation of the national budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, proposing a Taka 17,000 crore subsidy for the agriculture sector. The same broadcast also included the unveiling of a Tk. 42,433 crore allocation for local government and rural development. Additionally, Bangladesh Television reported on Dr. Ahmed's presentation of a Tk 790,000 crore national budget for fiscal year 2025-2026, representing 12.7 percent of the GDP; this budget is the country's 54th and the first under the Professor Muhammad Yunus-led interim government.
