NAB Show, a privately owned entity headquartered in the US, was founded in 1923 and employs approximately 50 individuals. The company focuses on Broadcast Media Production and Distribution, producing an annual trade show by the National Association of Broadcasters, which takes place in April and has been held since 1991 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
On June 24, 2026, the MusicFirst Coalition and the Future of Music Coalition challenged assertions made by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) in the FCC’s quadrennial review process regarding radio ownership rules, arguing that ownership caps are not to blame for radio homogenization and do not support loosening local radio ownership limits. Earlier the same day, NAB updated the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on notable advances from its NextGen TV News Technology Lab program, an initiative developing and testing ATSC 3.0 technology applications for journalism, public safety, accessibility, and community service, which recently marked its first anniversary. Previously, on June 19, NAB protested the FCC’s proposed 46% fee increase for broadcaster-operated earth stations for FY 2026, deeming the hike disproportionate and a penalty for broadcasters using satellite infrastructure. Also on June 19, NAB expressed support for the bipartisan Nurture Originals Foster Art and Keep Entertainment Safe (NO FAKES) Act, a bill intended to protect the voice and visual likeness of individuals from unauthorized computer-generated recreations by generative artificial intelligence. This followed NAB's release of the first public report from its NextGen TV News Technology Lab on June 17, detailing how local TV stations leverage NextGen TV to enhance news, weather, and emergency information accessibility for viewers.
