Nasdaq is a publicly owned corporation headquartered in the US. Founded in 1971, the company employs approximately 7,380 individuals. Specializing in financial services, Nasdaq owns and operates three stock exchanges in the United States, including the namesake Nasdaq stock exchange, the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, and the Boston Stock Exchange. Additionally, it operates seven European stock exchanges: Nasdaq Copenhagen, Nasdaq Helsinki, Nasdaq Iceland, Nasdaq Riga, Nasdaq Stockholm, Nasdaq Tallinn, and Nasdaq Vilnius.
