National Media Authority (UAE), also known as NMA, is a state-owned entity headquartered in the United Arab Emirates. Established in 2025, the organization employs approximately 70 individuals. The Authority functions as the newly established federal regulator and governing body for the media sector in the United Arab Emirates. Formed in December 2025 via Federal Decree-Law No. (11), the NMA represents a major consolidation of the UAE's media landscape, effectively replacing and absorbing the functions of the UAE Media Council, the National Media Office (NMO), and the Emirates News Agency (WAM). Affiliated with the UAE Cabinet, the Authority is designed to unify the national media discourse, align policies across both federal and local levels, and enhance the country's global reputation through a single, strategic narrative. It maintains full financial and administrative independence while overseeing all media activities, including digital platforms and those operating within the state's various free zones.
