NBC Sports Philadelphia is a privately owned entity based in the US, founded in 1997 and operating with approximately 110 employees. The company specializes in broadcast media production and distribution, focusing on sports content for its regional audience.
On March 25, 2026, NBC Sports Philadelphia announced that Ben Davis, a member of its Phillies broadcast team since 2015, will call more games from field level as part of an evolving broadcast approach. This decision follows the network's explanation on February 25 regarding the departure of Taryn Hatcher and the elimination of the in-stadium reporter position. Alexandra Matcham, NBCSP's vice president of content, stated the move aligns with evolving the network’s baseball broadcast strategy. Earlier, on February 23, the network confirmed that part-time Phillies broadcaster Mike Schmidt, who had been with the team since 2014, chose not to return. The elimination of the sideline reporter position also meant Taryn Hatcher would not be back. On February 19, reports indicated that Hatcher's contract with NBC Sports Philadelphia had expired at the end of the previous year, and the network would proceed without an in-stadium reporter for 2026. Prior to these personnel changes, on February 10, the Phillies announced the return of PHILLIES.TV for streaming games, available in partnership with NBC Sports Philadelphia, providing two in-market streaming options for fans.
