Earlier on April 1, 2026, the government mandated that all public notices and advertisements be published and broadcast exclusively through state-owned media outlets, a directive issued by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to ensure fiscal discipline and enhance transparency. Previously, on May 18, 2025, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung emphasized that public service broadcasters, including Radio Nepal and Nepal Television, should keep the public well-informed by producing news and programs in favor of citizens rather than political parties or the government, highlighting the importance of prosperity and national unity.
