NewSpace India, also known as NSIL, is a wholly-owned Government of India company under the Department of Space, headquartered in India. Established in 2019, with approximately 10 employees, the company primarily offers enterprise connectivity services. Functioning as the commercial arm of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), NSIL undertakes commercial launches of satellites, provides space-based services, and promotes space-related industries within India, also involving itself in the development and launch of small satellites, space exploration missions, and other related activities.
On September 11, 2026, Australian Earth observation satellite company LatConnect 60 (LC60) expanded its market presence in India through an agreement with NewSpace India (NSIL), announced at the Bengaluru Space Expo 2026 on September 7. Previously, on September 9, 2026, NSIL was highlighted as the business arm facilitating India's commercial space journey, positioned at an "inflection point." Discussions at the expo also addressed India's evolving architecture for the space economy, involving ISRO, IN-SPACe, NSIL, and the private sector, as private companies increasingly develop capabilities in rockets, satellites, and space services.
