As of 2024, Nordstrom employs approximately 44,940 people and generates over $1 billion in annual revenue. Its headquarters are located in the US Virgin Islands. The company's full-line stores compete with other high-end department stores, while its Nordstrom Rack stores compete in the off-price retail market. Nordstrom has previously operated stores in Canada and Puerto Rico.
