Northwestern University is a privately owned higher education institution headquartered in Illinois, US. Founded in 1851, the university employs approximately 15,390 individuals. Functioning as an American higher education provider, it operates two campuses located on Lake Michigan: a 240-acre campus in Evanston, minutes north of Chicago, and a 25-acre campus in downtown Chicago. Earlier the same day, new research from Northwestern revealed that imagination relies most strongly on higher-level brain systems that organize meaning, actively constructing complete internal experiences rather than merely replaying fragments of sight or sound. Also on April 3, Medill Reports from Northwestern highlighted how communities, such as Chicago's Urban Growers Collective, combat "food redlining" by using a "produce aisle on wheels" to deliver fresh groceries directly to divested neighborhoods.
