OL Reign, a privately owned entity headquartered in the US, was founded in 2020. The organization, originally established as Seattle Reign FC in 2012, operates with approximately 60 employees and reported $16.3M in revenue as of 2023. Specializing in spectator sports, it was a founding member of the National Women’s Soccer League.
The Utah Royals took an early lead against the Seattle Reign on Sunday, April 26, during the Reign's first true home opener at Lumen Field following a month-long road stretch, with Paige Cronin and Narumi Miura netting goals within the initial seven minutes of the match. Previously, on April 21, Seattle Reign captain Jess Fishlock, an NWSL "original," announced her decision to retire at the close of the 2026 season. This followed an international window ending around April 20, during which nine Seattle Reign players featured in at least one national team game. Earlier in April, on the 15th, the club extended the contract of 18-year-old goalkeeper Evan O’Steen through the 2030 season; O'Steen had become the youngest player to sign with Seattle at age 17 in January.
