Open AP, a consortium of major U.S. media companies, announced a new partnership with Interpublic Group, an ad-holding company, to enhance its efforts in identifying similar consumer audiences across different platforms. This collaboration aims to leverage new types of audience data in planning how and where commercials run. Interpublic Group also announced the sale of two of its well-known agency assets. In a separate development, the U.S. Joint Industry Committee, supported by several major TV networks, granted conditional certification to audience-measurement technologies developed by Comscore VideoAmp and iSpot, challenging Nielsen's dominance in the media industry's audience tabulation.
