Optimus Bank partnered with the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation and Leadway Trustees to launch a pension-backed loan scheme for retirees on Thursday. This initiative aims to improve Nigeria's consumer credit system and expand financial inclusion among senior citizens by providing affordable and secure loans. Separately, news emerged that Ashish Kumar, who led the AI capabilities for Optimus, left Tesla. Kumar announced his departure on X, a social media platform, on Thursday, stating he is taking a research scientist position at Meta. He had been with Tesla for over two years and holds a Ph.D. in artificial intelligence from the University of California, Berkeley; he began his new role at Meta this month.
