It specializes in telecommunications carriers, engaged in the telecommunications sector by offering prepaid and contract mobile phone, fiber-optic and ADSL Internet, landline, and television services.
Parlem's board of directors dismissed founder Ernest Pérez-Mas as president on September 6, 2026, appointing Silvia Martínez Losas to the role. This leadership change followed Spanish investment funds Inveready and Global Portfolio Investments, the holding company of fashion brand Mayoral, taking majority control of the Catalan MVNO in August 2026. The shift in ownership occurred after a debt restructuring deal, which included a EUR 17.5 million debt-for-equity conversion that left Inveready with a 49 percent stake and a EUR 7.95 million capital hike, allowing Mayoral to retain a 20 percent stake. Previously, on March 27, 2026, Spanish rural telecommunications provider Avatel abandoned merger negotiations with Parlem. Avatel ended the consolidation process nearly a year after starting it, having previously agreed to acquire 50.01 percent of Parlem's shares in exchange for its business in Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, and the Levante region.
