Perro Azul, a studio headquartered in the Escandón neighborhood of Mexico City, Mexico, was fully acquired by Peter Chernin's Hollywood conglomerate, The North Road Company, in January 2025, marking North Road’s strategic expansion into the Latin American market. Founded in 2017 and employing approximately 40 individuals, the company specializes in entertainment content rights and operates as an independent film studio, television production house, and multimedia development firm. It has developed a multi-genre intellectual property portfolio, which includes high-concept thrillers, political black comedies, historical dramas, zombie series, and socially conscious podcasts. Its entertainment catalog features Spanish-language streaming productions such as the Netflix thriller Who Killed Sara? (¿Quién mató a Sara?), the drama The Secret of the River (El secreto del río), Belascoarán, Daughter From Another Mother (Madre solo hay dos), Fucking Mummies, and the Roberto Gómez Bolaños biographical series Chespirito: Sin querer queriendo for Max.
