Port Phillip City Council, a state-owned entity headquartered in Australia, was founded in 1994 and employs approximately 670 individuals. Operating in government administration, the organization functions as a tier 1 media tech buyer. It serves as an inner city council in Melbourne, Australia, with its operational scope encompassing neighborhoods including St Kilda, Elwood, South Melbourne, Windsor, Ripponlea, Balaclava, St Kilda East, Port Melbourne, Albert Park, and Middle Park.
Port Phillip City Council is stepping up pressure on the Victorian Government to trial a new acoustic camera in Port Melbourne, as residents around Beacon Cove and Station Pier continue to battle dangerous driving and extreme vehicle noise. Earlier in March, the Council engaged Klein Research and Metropolis Research to conduct a door-to-door and telephone survey, contacting residents selected through a random sample to understand community priorities. Also on March 5, the Council received a $2 million boost for the Broadway Bridge project, which will replace the 118-year-old bridge's deck support structure while preserving its historical and architectural significance, aiming to ensure its safety and durability for future generations. Previously, on the same day, the Council called for fair funding, stating that current funding settings have not kept pace with State and Commonwealth expectations for local government services, including waste and recycling, libraries, parks, and maternal and child health.
