Posit PBC released Posit Package Manager in September 2025, featuring enhanced security, broader platform support, and more granular control over R and Python packages. The company also released an update to Posit Workbench, Positron, and RStudio, codenamed “Cucumberleaf Sunflower,” focusing on improvements to data science workflows, collaboration, reporting, and infrastructure management. At posit::conf(2025), Jonathan McPherson presented a keynote address, “10 Years of Data Science Tools… and What Happens Next,” discussing the principles behind effective data science tool building and reflecting on his work with RStudio. Posit PBC also published a second edition of its AI newsletter, offering a curated look at AI developments.
