Probe

Probe is a privately owned company headquartered in the Philippines. Founded in 1988, the company has an estimated 30 employees and focuses on entertainment content rights. Functioning as an independent media production company, Probe Productions Inc. (PPI) was founded by veteran broadcast journalist Cheche Lazaro. The company produces audio-visual materials in varied genres, including full-scale documentaries, instructional videos, institutional videos, promotional materials, TV shows, and digital content. Probe is known for producing shows in Philippine television such as "The Probe Team," "Gameplan," "5 and Up," "Cheche Lazaro Presents," and "Art Is Kool." PPI also maintains Probe Archives, a collection of documentaries and videos covering politics, environment, arts and culture, and other social issues. In 2021, Probe launched its fact-checking campaign 'Tsek Eks' as a response to the information crisis, featuring social media personality "Macoy Dubs" (Mark Averilla). By 2023, Probe expanded its anti-disinformation campaign by collaborating with content creators including Mighty Magulang, Your Tita Baby, Brigiding (from Drag Race Philippines), and Mathilda Airlines. Probe has been a signatory of the International Fact-Checking Network of Poynter Institute since 2023.
